Let me introduce myself!

Hi!  My name is Amanda and I love all things Home, Health, Wealth, and Family!  I am the creator of the Domestic Goddess (DG) Planner!  I was inspired to print the planner after making it for myself to keep everything in my life straight.  It has places for meal planning, cleaning, outdoor and lawn maintenance, notes, annual goal setting and planning, budgets, kitchen inventory, etc.  It has all of the tools that I personally used to get my life in order.

I used to be a hot mess.  I paid zero attention to bills, I was living in a house my dad bought for me that was not my dream home (I was paying the mortgage, but he bought it), I ate out a LOT (despite knowing how to cook and being raised in a "foodie" family), my home was clean but disorganized, I had no life goals that I was actually working towards, I was just existing.  I was happy, I had a great husband and family and friends, but just felt like I was going nowhere in life.  I was living a reactive life instead of a proactive life.

Once I was aware of this, I slowly but surely starting making changes in the right direction.  I always enjoyed keeping a nice clean home, so I focused on more of a schedule for doing things so that I wasn't doing marathon cleaning sessions on the weekends, I did a little bit every day.

I set a goal of cooking at least 3 meals at home a week.

I started going through my things and getting more organized.  By being more organized and seeing what I already owned and also eating at home more, I saved a good bit of money.  Takeout is expensive!  I also wasn't buying 2 or 3 of the same items because I could actually see what I already had.

With the extra money that I had, I finally started paying attention to my bills and working on my credit.  It was one of those things that I had a lot of anxiety about and really dreaded.  But actually focusing on it, it was a lot easier that I thought!  It is one of my greatest regrets, not working on it sooner, but oh well, better late than never.  My husband was also on board with everything that I was doing, which was a big help.  Its so much easier to have a partner and someone to bounce ideas off of.

After really working on our credit for about 6 months, we were able to buy a home that we really loved!  It was really a turning point in my life, I was really proud that I did it and it really inspired to really really get my life together.

Fast forward to today, I have been in my dream home for almost 4 years, and I am the most organized I have ever been in my life!  And not just my things are organized, my LIFE is organized, I take pride in everything that I do.  I say this to show that it does not happen overnight, getting your home and your life together.  And I also want to show that I am not "perfect". I really struggled for a long time to get where I am.  So those are my credentials to have made this planner and to write about these topics.!

I plan to post about organizing, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, kids, gardening and any other things that come up in my life!

Sincerely,

Amanda
